Stringent legal requirements for car manufacturers concerning emissions and fuel consumption lead to the use of low viscosity oils. At the same time, vacuum performance and reliability should not decrease in order to guarantee the functionality of breaking operations. The aim of this thesis is to simulate and validate the performance characteristics of the pump and predict the wear behavior of the related components with respect to different oil temperature conditions. The study focuses on friction source identification and design improvement in order to improve the power absorption and optimize the wear behavior of the vacuum pump.
Education: Thesis student in Mechatronics, Mechanic or Electronics Engineering;
Experience and Know How: Academic knowledge;
Personality: goal-orientation, team working, proactivity, problem solving and analytical ability, willingness to take responsibilities;
Language skills: Fluent English, German will be a plus;
Interests: Desire to growth within a complex manufacturing organization open to an international environment.
